Well Trump himself was just short of rubbing his hands together and cackling with glee saying shit like "well gee the Democrats are forcing me to permanently fire people and get rid of agencies" so he clearly wants it - and is lying about being "forced" to permanently get rid of anything by anyone.  It's entirely his choice and it's never before happened as a result of a shutdown.  No shutdown in US history ever "forced" the President to permanently fire anyone let alone eliminate agencies.  Historically, they just resumed work once funding was restored.  He's looking to lawlessly do that entirely on his own and is lying about it to give himself cover.  [/quote]

Trumps could (and did) do it regardless of what the Democrats do/did.  Trump made the rule to do it, so he will own it.  If the Dems caved, Trump would/could STILL do it — AND get what he wants with regard to the budget.[/quote]
