A Jewish Ukrainian posted numerous videos on Twitter showing Russian atrocities committed in Ukraine: [twitter]https://mobile.twitter.com/no_itsmyturn/status/1506918738062458889[/twitter]
Why does it matter if the poster is Jewish?
Because Russia wants everyone to think that they are fighting against Nazis.
Yes, thanks. I am the one who pointed out the poster is Jewish. It matters because: - Putin has demanded Ukraine undergo “de-Nazification” - except Ukraine is led by a fairly elected Jewish leader, and there are virtually NO nazis in Ukraine. I said “virtually” because, technically, a tiny number of neo-nazis exist in the US, more in Russia itself, and probably a tiny number in Ukraine. But only an utter fool - a true idiot - would make the argument the US is a “Nazi country,” that Russia is a “Nazi country,” or “Ukraine is a Nazi country.” This “nazi” argument is the most idiotic claim I’ve heard from a world leader recently. - yet Putin continues to make it. Therefore, I believe it IS important to point out President Zelensky’s Jewish heritage, as well as the Twitter poster’s Jewish heritage. Now do you understand why?
Well why is Israel on the Russians side in this war? Do they believe the Ukraine is full of nazis?
Israel is NOT on Russia's side. For example, it was one of the countries that voted for the UN resolution today. It is not against Russia, at least not as strongly as EU, US etc but that has nothing to do with worries about Nazis and everything with geopolitical issues Israel views as important to itself - for example it coordinates with Russia in Syria, targeting Iran-backed forces. Its relative forbearance of Russia has everything to do with Israel's concerns about Iran and needing Russia not to be against its actions in the Middle East and nothing to do with nazis or lack thereof in Ukraine (or Russia.(
I don't think Israel is a fan of either Russia or Ukraine, they may not actually give a shit.
