That family sounded like they adopted for the money.  With six older kids they would get a very large monthly stipend.

No one really talks about that the parents often don't bond with the kids.  Adoption is the last resort and they really wanted biological kids.  The kid are blamed for not being attached but no one looking at the parents attachment as well.[/quote]
