You are their darkest fear, after all.  That’s right, if the wife only knew, her neat little life would be disrupted and he would realize that you are all he ever really wanted. While we have no way of verifying OPs particular account, her story is plausible - especially in this area.  Just read the WaPo long enough or attend enough DC events to meet the usual suspects, and you will see what I mean.
