There will likely be a performing arts magnet too at Woodward. Not sure how many seats for that.
If it's really big then it will take up some seats otherwise , it's safe to assume that WJ and Woodward both will take 2 ES each from DCC to balance demography and capacity. KP is just 0.6 miles from Einstein so it's almost certain that it will go to Einstein to balance geography, demography and performance. Everyone wants to avoid busing and KP going to Einstein to attend neighborhood school will avoid long distance busing.
K-P is ~2.5 miles to Einstein. (It is also ~2.5 miles to WJ.) Nothing is "almost certain" at this point. But let's meet back here in 2024 to discuss.
This is being covered in the MD Schools thread. KP is around 2.5 miles to both WJ and Einstein. However, Einstein has to take out an elementary feeder to accomodate KP (Einstein is overcrowded) and any ES Einstein can take out is 5 to 7 miles from WJ or Woodward. It makes absolutely no sense to do that. Woodward will take some Tilden MS zoned middle schools and Veirs Mill ES. Since Veirs Mill ES is zoned for Wheaton, a Einstein ES (probably Highland, since it’s right next to Wheaton HS) can go to Wheaton to alleviate Einstein crowding. Whatever happens, even if KP goes to Einstein they will have to take a ES out of Einstein and all the relatively poor performing ESs are the ones closest to WJ and Woodward so Einstein will become a much better school. If it’s KP, Singer, Woodlin, Oakland Terrace and Rock View at Einstein that’s a pretty good high school.
