um, no.  this stuff goes back thousands of years.  It didn't start right after wwii.

I don't disagree that it added to/intensified tensions.  But the way that country has conducted itself in the region has, as well.

There are so many parts of the world filled with strife, though.  Much of it having nothing to do with Israel.

You should watch the documentary series that Showtime did just recently about climate change, Years of Living Dangerously.  There was a fascinating couple of segments on syria and how a lot of the fighting there is due to a drought and poor farmers with no options.[/quote]

Not the poster you quoted but that is not surprising. Places with an abundance of natural resources were often taken over by countries that did not. And the natives of many of these places even had a different relationship with their environment and belief system lacking property rights.[/quote]
