There is always the exception, MLS Clubs are even in a different category to anything in MLS Next as well.  You could easily take those out and form their own league (and some would say its just a matter of time) and MLS Next loses a lot of appeal.  But for now they are there and the MLS Clubs run the roost.

Atlanta United actually committed to ECNL back when the DA folded if you remember, before MLS came and slapped their wrist and forced them to go MLS-N.  Any top end boy is going to seek to play for their local MLS club, no matter what league they are in (MLS Clubs could be in USYS and they would be top in terms of desirability for youth players with pro ambitions).[/quote]
