If you actually did, you’d name them. It’s an anonymous forum.
all top ga clubs are mls next, they wont leave.
A certain Atlanta based powerhouse, Tophat, has their boys in ECNL......
Tophat (and it's parents) have lobbied for years to get (back) into ECNL. It would seem like a no brainer for ECNL, Boys are excellent in ECNL Boys, Girls are by far the best in the GA and have proven themselves in every platform they have been in (ECNL, DA, GA, etc).
Deserved for sure. But if you look at the location of another ECNL club in the area, it’s almost certain that, that may be the reason for the denial of entry into ECNL. Why would you give competitive advantage to a club down the street from you?
There are already five ECNL clubs in the Atlanta area - no need to saturate it with one more.
I guess it comes down to is Tophat historically better than any of those other clubs in ATL? If so, should they not be in, and that club moved to RL or they go to GA? I understand there is not a perfect solution, but if a club like UFA for example isn't nearly as strong historically, would you not want Tophat instead?
Anonymous wrote:Now that the leagues have laid out what they are (ECNL, GA, MLS-N) will all have 2 tiers.
Does anyone have a real insight into timelines for announcements of clubs etc? It seems every league announced things earlier last year.

Roughly 1 national championship every year
2 clubs in the Southeast Conference
1st or 2nd place in every age group
College scouts at all events they participate in.
Seems like ECNL would have to provide more than just entry to bring them over.
ECNL SE is already packed as is with 16.
The conferences could re-align, with the numbers if you were to add a few more clubs you can split Florida into it's own conference (Florida United would be a great add to a Florida Conference). It would regionalize things more and save on some of the insane travel.

Why wouldn't Top Hat boys not want to go to MLSN?
ECNL Boys is stronger than MLS Next in that area (it is admittedly an uncommon thing, but its the reality there)
If this is true what about Atlanta United MLSN?
