Have any of you actually looked at the GBRS? Good lord, the misinformation that people are gossiping about is really ridiculous.
Great post! In general, people here think the GBRS is only compiled in 2nd grade, when it is actually started annually in Kindergarten.
Uh.... my kid went to a private kindergarten, and I don't think the kindergarten made contribution to GBRS. Provide some source for your fact.
I amend my post -- "when it is actually started annually in FCPS' Kindergarten." Source: AAP office
The AART teacher at our school said they do an informal scale on kids at the end of K and beg of 1st for placement in pull-out for 1st and 2nd grade. My child was pulled out for reading and math in 1st and 2nd grade and had a high scale according to her K and 1st grade teacher. But he screening file GBRS does not show that. Her screening file did not even have pull-out reading and math checked off and the comments were one sentence 3 words long for each category. I made sure to send in her AAP report card for 1st grade and for part of 2nd grade with our appeal with all the categories checked off as her exceeding all areas.
