President Obama and president bush both called the families of our fallen heroes and they both spent countless hours meeting with them privately and also spent countless hours in Walter Reed with our injured soldiers . The Obamas most favored charity (the charity they gave the most of their private charitable donations to)was Fisher House which assists the families of wounded soldiers and Michelle Obama and Jill Biden made helping military families one of their top two issues on par with the campaign to reduce childhood obesity. President Bush still spends a lot of time with the wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. There are accounts of him respectfully listening to family members expressing anger towards him. He never once said anything against Cindy Sheehan a Gold Star mother who spent years camped outside his ranch at Crawford in protest. Obama and Bush did the right thing but they did it in a low key way and they never ever made it about them. [/quote]

I'm not sure if Obama called the families or not. We know that he did not call all of the families. He never called General Kelly after his son died, and Kelly said that he was right not to do so. Kelly recommended that Trump not call because Kelly had experience with these calls, and they rarely go well. [/quote]
