Unless he plays for a HS that attends a recruiting event(s), has a coach that can carry weight with some coaches and/or plays for a high profile HS lacrosse program, odds are very slim.  Odds are slim regardless to play college lacrosse at any level.  To get recruited, you really need to play either for a club that attends recruiting events and/or attend individual recruiting events on your own.  Attending is only part of the battle - you have to play well enough (and get lucky enough) to be noticed.

1.  Work closely with the high school coach and ask for help.
2.  If you can afford it, try to have your child attend some summer camps or showcase events -- the high school coach should be able to recommend one.  Again, if you can afford it and if your son is interested in a particular college (when the time comes), see if your son can attend the summer camp at that college (most have one).
3.  Work on getting a good game DVD.

It will make it harder to get recruited -- some coaches are, frankly, a little bit lazy and only want the one-stop shopping events of the club events.  But others will look at game tap and talk to a high school coach.
