No, that is not all of the best kids from those three schools. The kids on that team played for Club Blue and stayed together. But there are many other great players from those three schools who play for different clubs.

Actually, the players came from four different middle school club teams -- Club Blue, Next Level, Madlax and Maryland Elite -- to form one 2016 team.

In terms of numbers, thel core came from the Clue Blue team.

Unless he plays for a HS that attends a recruiting event(s), has a coach that can carry weight with some coaches and/or plays for a high profile HS lacrosse program, odds are very slim. Odds are slim regardless to play college lacrosse at any level. To get recruited, you really need to play either for a club that attends recruiting events and/or attend individual recruiting events on your own. Attending is only part of the battle - you have to play well enough (and get lucky enough) to be noticed.

There are lots of stars on HS teams all over the country.

1. Work closely with the high school coach and ask for help.
2. If you can afford it, try to have your child attend some summer camps or showcase events -- the high school coach should be able to recommend one. Again, if you can afford it and if your son is interested in a particular college (when the time comes), see if your son can attend the summer camp at that college (most have one).
3. Work on getting a good game DVD.

It will make it harder to get recruited -- some coaches are, frankly, a little bit lazy and only want the one-stop shopping events of the club events. But others will look at game tap and talk to a high school coach.

Breakout is based in DC and focused on DC kids plus a few Montgomery County kids. They are very good at instruction for less experienced players, but their talent pool isn't deep enough to compete at the highest levels. They only go up to 8th grade, so their kids often either stop playing club lacrosse or peel off for other programs.

Next Level has historically fielded two HS teams - a freshman/sophomore team and a junior/senior team. But because all HS events are grade based, those teams would typically enter into rising junior and rising senior divisions, respectively (or "open" divisions).

Most of those kids who played for NL in youth will play for VLC or Madlax. Some will play for Maryland clubs further away (e.g. Crabs, Greene Turtle), etc. Those who are less seriously typically play just for their HS team.

What about Bethesda Lacrosse players? Where do they typically go after U-15?

Since both programs are geologically neighbors, I would guess the same teams as Next Level kids.

Correct. My son plays for Bethesda. The kids tend to scatter to a number of different clubs.

Would that not be only Madlax and VLC? Are there any club teams in MD for high schoolers that are in the DC-metro (as opposed to Baltimore) area?

That 2016 team was an exception. Many of those kids had played for CB in the spring and then GT in the summer. They wanted to stay together (mostly Prep and Gonzaga kids), so their parents organized a way for a 2nd GT team to be made for that grade.

If you want your son to play for GT, he'll have to travel to Baltimore for practices. GT draws kids mostly from MIAA schools around Baltimore.
