Student safety diesn't seem to be a priority for many institutions of higher learning, including Brown. More protective measures should be taken to keep students safe, and school administrators should be more aware of campus incidents and where they occur.
Brown, Rhode Island and Providence are some of the safest places in the entire USA. Their campus is one of the safest. You cannot protect against a single nutjob like this, particularly on an urban campus. We should be going after the guns and the root of the problem instead of quarterbacking and taking the focus from why and how we have crazies with guns shooting up kids (and adults) in America. It’s natural to think it wouldn’t happen at your school, your shopping mall, your place of business because you are so protected. You do this as protection- if you believe you can do everything to prevent this in terms of locks, cameras, etc—-you have lost the battle. You can’t, it’s the guns and the mental health and an administration and chat rooms that invite this violence. And I’m not even a “liberal” or a “dem”.
