I've heard there's a five-year wait for legal immigrants, so we can't reward illegals by giving them the same wait. I'd say....10 years. Thoughts?

My parents were uneducated, poor legal immigrants, and at times were on food stamps. They have now paid more into the system than they get back. I have also paid waaay more into the system earning six figures a year in the past 10 yrs than I will ever get back; same for my sibling.  You are quite ignorant.[/quote]
There are always exceptions, and I know people who immigrated here legally and are now successful. So immigrants can come in, but they cannot expect to immediately be supported by tax-paying Americans. It drives up more of a burden on the already suffering middle class. Sorry, but while immigrants are welcome, they need to be self-supporting. We are already $20 trillion in debt and cannot afford to bring in people who are dependent on government resources (unless refugees ....politicsl assylum,,,,that type of thing.)[/quote]

Officially the number is 12 million, but there are probably more. Can you imagine if we dump them all into the failing Obamacsre exchanges? We'd be doubling the number, and the system is already collapsing as it is. [/quote]
