I think I'm some of what you've listed---several part-time quirky jobs, tattoos, happiest outside in the sun, tend to wear old band tshirts and florals, into composting and the enviroment. Honestly, as a now-married woman who had tons of suitors---what do you bring to the table? Are you a quirky outdoorsy indie type too or are you looking for someone who will be the most interesting thing about you? A lot of guys who approached me were the second type, they're pretty easy to see through. Take inventory of yourself, though. Too many people look to complete themselves with other people instead of being happy with their own selves.
quirky - no. I'm not quirky nor do I try to be. outdoorsy - yes. I climb, hike, bike, getting into birdwatching - I would love to move west but my job and career keeps me here. Attempting to garden. very into environmental issues, but usually that's by writing a check  (though i do try to walk and cycle as much as possible and not use the AC unless absolutely necessary). not into material things for the most part. I don't think it is about being more interesting - i'm pretty happy with how I am, I just want to explore dating someone who isn't high strung, has a much more relaxed happy-go-lucky vibe, isn't a worrywart - i've met three women like this out west (one in santa cruz, one in santa fe, and one more in another small mountain west town) and I fell hard for them at different parts of my life so I think it seems i've always been into this type but since I grew up in the north east and my circles never crossed paths in a sustained way with enough frequency for me to find someone like that here. I fully get that most women like this might not want anything to do with me. That's cool. But dating is a numbers game so if i don't actively put myself out there for these women, I won't ever know.
You type all this out yet don't see that the easiest answer is to move?? You need someplace with a lower COL (so someone could get by on a coffee barista job) and mountains.
