"They know better," she said. "We're not sure where they got the gun. They were playing at the park and came home right before it happened."

The two boys, along with the 8-year-old's twin brother, were playing with the gun when it fired. A bullet hit the 8-year-old in the upper left shoulder. The bullet went through the boy's shoulder and out his arm.  He was taken to Fairview Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
