Great Falls is a very nice area, but I think it's time has come and gone. It and Potomac MD are one of the few places you can live on 2+ acres in the DC area, but the commute is insane into Tysons. You will pay dearly for the trees and quiet of the area with a lot of windshield time.
What? The commute to Tysons can be quick and easy depending on the location within Great Falls which covers a huge swath of territory. That's why so many people bought here along with tech related jobs in the dulles corridor. Parts of Great Falls border Mclean and unless you know the address you don't know where you are located. Then other parts of Great Falls are far out bordering Loudoun, or are near Herndon, etc. Properties in eastern GF's zoned for Great Falls ES sell if under 1.5, updated, good lots near village center. Helps to have property on a side road.
