When you sing to a bunch of boys, "you say HE's just a friend" (rewording), you're saying they are gay and closeted. I hope the explanations about it being a prior song are true. Still don't understand - what on earth makes that song a victory song?
PP, why don't you just come out and announce that you're a middle-aged, hair-coloring, yoga-pants-and-CVS-cheaters-wearing NW DC mother who, back in the day, thought of herself as cool, hip and with it, but is increasingly aware of how out of touch she has become?
Not the PP, but I fully agree and think OP should apologize. In her eagerness to find bigotry, she incorrectly accused people of being anti-gay. That is a serious accusation, and wholly unfounded. But rather than apologize, she'll just go on that she doesn't know why the boys chose a particular victory song. How about getting to the actual point and acknowledging that you slandered people on no basis? - yoga pant wearing woman who colors her hair and is a senior professional at an international aid organization and who has no kids at STA or Prep (I know, ruining your judgmental, small-minded stereotypes)
