Not the OP, but did you read her post? She knows she did a dumb thing by leaving her purse in plain view. She also acknowledges that even Georgetown is vulnerable to these types of crimes. She was railing against the naysayers who were denying that that other attack happened in which the woman was surrounded by a gang of youths as she was getting in her car. I think OP is with you, PP.

If anything, this is a PSA that if you move to a big city like DC, always be on guard. Do not expect DC to change. Crime has been an issue in the city for eons, like any city. This is not Kansas anymore, people![/quote]
