I know that many will dislike this post, but I hope this is not true. The area is already congested with school-induced traffic to/from Janney, Deal and Wilson (the latter two receiving some one thousands kids from other Wards). The new Tenleytown GDS campus will add to that.
The community could have had just a regular residential building at the car site 10 years ago but they fought that tooth and nail because of traffic concerns even though most resisdents would have used public transportation. Now you get a school.
It is actually a school and two eight -floor apartment buildings. That's GDS latest plans. At Ann's Academy was mainly a Catholic neighborhood school (before Janney and Deal were fully endorsed by the neighborhood). A Latin spin-off will attract students from all parts of the city. And middle schoolers are often still transported to school by car by their parents. That area will become a mess between 8:15 and 9:30.
