Thank you. I actually use public transport, but I see what residents who rely on cars go through. Its awful when the parking gets tight. If you ( the Councilmembers, city, urban planners) want people to take public, make public as enticing as possible which it currently is not - not limit parking. The problem with these plans too is you can never go back . If they don't put in the underground garage when the building is going up , its just not going in.

I'm.guessing a Catholic School.had mostly folks driving in. As to getting rattled, I'm getting rattled by our cities push to 'encourage " public transport by limiting any new parking. They on purpose put FEW spaces at the new Tenley library. They on purpose put no parking at the new apt building going up on Brandywine (by REI). This asinine attempt to manage people behavior choices by force is what will drive up congestion..meanwhile, public transport is totally under policed. Please contact Mary Cheh and keep an eye on these asinine (because they work backwards) 'green, livable city' plans. A school where there already was a school.ia not what's driving up parking problems ans congestion. Its piss poor (on purpose!) urban planning.
Maybe we are beginning to wonder a bit off-topic, but you're absolutely correct. I've heard more than one developer piously promise that less off-street parking would needed in its development than what the zoning regulations require. The developers promise that everyone, of course, will take public transportation, use zip car or walk. Next thing you know everyone in the new development has managed to snag one or more RPP permits, adding further to existing overcrowding on all of the nearby streets. This is a classic case of privatizing economic gain while shifting private costs (in this case, parking) on to the public to bear.

It is actually a school and two eight -floor apartment buildings. That's GDS latest plans.
At Ann's Academy was mainly a Catholic neighborhood school (before Janney and Deal were fully endorsed by the neighborhood). A Latin spin-off will attract students from all parts of the city. And middle schoolers are often still transported to school by car by their parents. That area will become a mess between 8:15 and 9:30.

I can understand that. However, st..anns was already a school. My understanding with the gds thing is the neighborhood fought the giant for years and thats how we all woke up to a school expansion?
