You've got that wrong - it's the parents of AAP kids who check out who else is "in" so they can go blabbing it to everyone they know.   :shock: [/quote]this is the reason why if DC#2 gets in we will NOT be attending orientation. We are already at a center school and have one child in AAP. I was shocked to see parents at that orientation who already had up to 1-3 kids already in AAP and already at the center school as base. Totally seemed like it was to show face. The kids already know the school and most teachers. [/quote]

At DC1's center there has been a lot of teacher turnover since he was in  third grade.  If DC2 gets in, I would consider going to the orientation to meet the new third grade teachers.  I really never thought anyone would think it was to"show face."  It's not like people won't know who's in in a few months anyway.   If a parent wants to go again, why judge them?[/quote]

I agree.  Plus, when we went to the orientation for my son, there was an aspect of the orientation just for the kids.  Since my daughter didn't attend that back then, I would want to go again if she gets in so that she can have her chance to hear the presentation.  It never would have occurred to me that it would look bad to attend with a second child.  [/quote]
