Currently?

My mom's friend just got divorced from her husband of 40+ years because he was gay and finally came out.  Their son is also gay.

My cousin, who is a rector at an Episcopal church, is gay.

About 10% of the people I work with are gay.  Some of them have become my friends.

The father of a guy I dated about 15 years ago is gay.

A mom at my son's school is gay.

My friend's sister is gay.

Most of these I never would have known were gay, except they told me.  I didn't just "know" it.  My gay-dar sucks, as one gay friend put it.  Maybe yours does too.
