Do what you need to do to prepare your finances, etc. and then GO. I've been in your shoes. In the past I've posted about the childhood abuse I experienced on DCUM. It was a shock to read other posters' horrified responses. I was surprised to realize how extreme the abuse was in comparison with others' experiences. This kind of feedback provides perspective.
