If your email signature contains one of those Jesus fish icons. Also if your email signature reads like this: Mark Twatwaffle Director & Father of three Project Management Office You suck a thousand sucks.
Whaaat? People actually do this? Men?
Yup. And in my case a pretty senior guy no less. The Jesus fish thing was from a guy making $500k and with maybe 50 people below him. The father of three was from a guy at $250k. Baffled me
Yes, I saw this too, on the (professional) Twitter page of one guy who is the head-honcho of national non profit. It said, "Proud Husband and Father." What??? Yuck. TMI.
This attitude is why people have such a hard time finding family friendly places to work. Why is it yuck? Why do we have to pretend that we have no life beyond the office?
Completely wrong. If this description was simply for the people in his office, perfect. We all work together every day, we support one another, we ask about each other's families, etc. COMPLETELY fine. THIS description was his public description of himself on his professional Twitter page. Like, putting it on his resume. The audience is not just within his personal office. It is to anyone who sees his Twitter page, e.g. anyone who sees his LinkedIn page, or his resume, etc. No, just no.
