My kid can go to any school in MCPS and will do well, because I will not accept any namby pamby excuse of a school ranking, class sizes, limited AP classes or a poor MCPS curriculum. My kids go to magnets but I do not think that it signifies that my kids are gifted or the schools themselves are amazing. They go there so that they can get the best education currently available in the county. I devote time and energy on their education.
