Will people please stop singing "America the Beautiful" in languages like Klingon? This is America. We should respect the proud history of our country and all speak Navajo.
It's b/c Americans don't put any value in speaking another language. Being bilingual helps brain development so learning Navajo, Klingon, Elvish, etc is good for your kid even if they'll never use it.
Not correct. The brain benefits come from long-term, actual use of the second language. If you learn something but never use it, first of all you don't really learn it, and, second, there are no proven cognitive benefits. That's why it makes more sense to learn Mandarin or Spanish over Klingon.
This is not true. If my snowflake learns Mandarin or Spanish, she will only be qualified to make dumplings or 99 cent tacos, whereas if she learns Klingon she could meet William Shatner.
