Maybe HRCS school should start charging a supply fee instead of pooling supplies so you won't have to see little Larla blowing her nose with some of the tissues that you bought.

My unique and gifted child attends HRCS and we received the list of supplies for the year. I'm appalled that the supplies have to be put into a general pool so that ALL the children can have supplies and not just my special snowflake. I had already woodburned "Madison" on each and every pencil and now I find out that other children will be using those pencils. And kleenexs! I'm going to write David Catania about this!

OMG, I just walked in from the gym and my nanny tells me she applied to HRCS for her kid! She's relying on the lottery. Maybe she overheard me saying we'd applied because everyone on DCUM says it IS the best. I don't have the heart to tell her that my child will be at HRCS in the fall, not hers.

If Barack Obama won't send his kids to HRCS, I won't either. Your kids' brains are rotting away and they are not living up to their potential.

My child in FCPS is so much smartur than yors.

This is not true. If my snowflake learns Mandarin or Spanish, she will only be qualified to make dumplings or 99 cent tacos, whereas if she learns Klingon she could meet William Shatner.

I'm telling you, English/English bilingual is the way to go! PS and PK would be 100% in English, and then 50/50 English English from K-5. And the application could be written in Shakespearean English to weed out the unwanted types.

5th Grade class will do a language trip through Texas, Wisconsin and Candada - oh, and Queens NYC - to master different dialects of English.

The school hasn't even been started yet, but I can tell by the fact that DCI's materials are in English that this school would feed into DCI. Who's with me in starting this school? Let's call it "Freedom Fries Green Beans"!!

So post some research. People assert this all the time but not a single backup. I suspect you are prejudiced about Klingon b/c you hate space aliens. We are applying to HRCS b/c we want our youngling exposed to other space beings and our IB school is not acceptable.

No, HRCS has a great playground, it's just a mile outside of 495. It's no biggie - the PS and PK classes make a game of crossing 495 in different places every day. Just make sure your kid wears their reflective uniform - it's a bummer when kids don't.

You too? We're just moved from Magnitogorsk and find not many Black Hispanic Russians here. We hope HRC have many like us, but not many it turns out, schools here all stupid, even HRC. We homeschool so we can teach kids proper language and skills, kids here not know good maths. Our kids 7 9 already learning differential geometry and reading Dostoevsky like in Russian school.
