Why does it matter to you? You don't know each girl's circumstance, let alone GPA/Test Scores/ECs which is all that seems to matter to the posters on DCUM. My daughter, despite a 4.0 (her school does not weight) and high test scores, is going to a school DCUM has deemed as "lesser." We are still proud of her many years of hard work and the education she received. I think it's awful that Instagram accounts weigh on these kids and even weigh into their self-worth. I think it's crazy that people sit here in judgment of these kids who you say are inadequate and categorize as lesser just because they aren't going to Harvard.
Exactly! I feel like Sidwell sends "so many" kids to Harvard because parents who are Harvard obsessed mostly try to send their kids to Sidwell... so it is just a self fulfilling prophecy. Normal people realize that there are many high quality schools in this country how people mentally tier schools exists in their own heads and the group consensus changes every few years. Personally, I never was interested in Harvard. I just wasn't and I don't think my high school should be negatively judged because I chose to not apply to Harvard. I get that we want to see that these small schools are able to get kids into schools like Harvard, but the sitting here counting it like it is the thing we are all trying to achieve is insane.
