Middlebury College is addressing a projected $14.1 million budget deficit by cutting over $10 million from its annual budget through measures including reducing retirement matches, hiring freezes, and closing the Middlebury Institute of International Studies campus in California by 2027. The crisis, largely stemming from low enrollment at the MIIS campus, has led to staff reductions and protests by faculty, students, and staff.

That seems quite poor to me.
