Keeping it a secret from family and friends is odd.

Deciding not to post an 18yo’s photo along with the college they are attending? Not odd. Especially for girls.

Women and girls are abused, raped, trafficked at extraordinarily high rates, and not one damn thing is done about it. Hate crimes against almost every non-white male category have increased.

The only reason to post this shit is to gloat, make your private look good, and/or prove to everyone that your tuition money paid off. Everyone who knows your kid will know what they have accomplished.

Can you explain how posting where you're going to college on Instagram increases your chances of being raped or trafficked? I truly do not understand.

The majority of rapes are by someone the woman knows and the women most vulnerable to trafficking are those trying to escape trauma/dysfunction at home. None of that is related to an Instagram post.[/quote]
