Wanting your kid to keep private where they are going to college -- not where they were accepted, but where they have chosen to attend -- is so odd.
Keeping it a secret from family and friends is odd.
Deciding not to post an 18yo’s photo along with the college they are attending? Not odd. Especially for girls.
Women and girls are abused, raped, trafficked at extraordinarily high rates, and not one damn thing is done about it. Hate crimes against almost every non-white male category have increased.
The only reason to post this shit is to gloat, make your private look good, and/or prove to everyone that your tuition money paid off. Everyone who knows your kid will know what they have accomplished.
The odd thing here is actually posting the info publicly.

I don't know if an exceptionally connected cohort at Sidwell, a strong reputation or grades that are slightly bumped up. My guess is that's a combo of all 3. On the last point, if you grade to a class average of a 3.7 you're going to have much better results across all kids than if you grade to a 3.5. Some of the other privates are still grading to something like a 3.5 (like it's still 1998). I imagine Sidwell has adjusted upwards as college results have become more difficult and this is why they're doing better across the board.
Sidwell does NOT bump up grades...sometimes it feels like they purposefully make it harder for students. Sidwell so far has not done great this year with the Ivies, I am surprised people are staying that...the ones who did get in to certain schools used connections...the two Harvard admits are purely deserving and great students...some of the rest? Not so much

You have to give at significant levels and be an alum for it to matter. I would say at least 500k to get a second glance on your app. Probably at least a million.
Bullshit. Just, bullshit. Esp Princeton

+1. Heavy on Princeton (and Yale)! If you’re a Sidwell student, admission based on academic achievement seems to take a backseat to athletic recruits and legacies.
Yep. Practically 100% of Princeton and Yale admits from Sidwell are legacy. Don’t let the IG page fool you. P+Y are wasted applications if you are not a “best student I’ve ever had” or type of applicant.
What about lower ivys?

You are complaining about this?? Take a look at Holton its even much much worse. I thought they had 11 or 12 National Merit Semifinalist. What happened to them? They only had 2 Cornell, 2 Brown, 1 UPenn and 1 MIT. No HYP, Columbia, Stanford.
So what happened to Holton?
What do you mean, what "happened" to Holton? Was the school hit by tornado?
Surely you are not criticizing the college CHOICES of a group of 17 YO girls, probably none of whom you actually know?
