We practiced the tornado drill last week—be aware that while upstairs classes come down to safer hallways  the downstairs classes remain in their rooms which in many case do have windows. We are told to place students away from windows as much as possible. I have given this some extra thought. I can promise you I will do everything possible to keep my students safe and secure if a tornado is threatened.
Don’t expect your kid to get fed supper or anything from the cafeteria because those staff will be gone. Pack an extra granola bar in the backpack. Charge the cellphones and such. [/quote]
