I disagree that they are incorrect but it’s not a problem if your team wants to host. It’s a huge lift. Your team is welcome to take it on instead of complaining.
Again, thrilled it might not happen. Not complaining at all. Doesn't change the fact that Lincolnia is 100% wrong in their interpretation here and are acting quite pettily!
I don't think Lincolnia is being petty. This is an important issue with strong feelings. I don't think that there are easy solutions either. I want all children to feel included but I also do not want biological boys swimming against girls or breaking records. I feel that this is inherently unfair to all girls in athletics. Lincolnia Park is incorrect in their interpretation of NVSL rules. NVSL follows USA Swimming and they have been noodling this for a while and finally came up with their policy. VHSL is even stricter on this topic. NVSL is simply adhering to USA. The reps would have to propose a rule that counters USA Swimming which the Board never ever likes or supports but it happens. Last year we got the new false start rule which counters USA Swimming but is more in line with VHSL. So they can do that. If they are not hosting in protest to the policy I support that even though I agree with the policy. If they are not hosting because NVSL is adhering to USA swimming and they did not think last fall to counter then that would not be good. This was discussed at the fall meeting so it was not a surprise. They had opportunity to propose a rule change.
