Other than LP, who is complaining?
Just them, and it's quite hypocritical. If they truly felt this strongly about the issue, they would sit out their whole season in protest. I think they just regretted saying yes to hosting and found a way to weasel out.
Not from that pool but are nearby. They have hosted this event on and off for years and have done a fabulous job. They have no issue with hosting. Stop being a douche.

Again, thrilled it might not happen. Not complaining at all.
Doesn't change the fact that Lincolnia is 100% wrong in their interpretation here and are acting quite pettily!

I like ASR but IAS and that might not happen this year and I would be thrilled. It is not a fun meet. It is a ton of work and since it is after the season is over it is hard on team reps and coaches.

Anonymous wrote:Other pools are welcome to step up and host. Lincolnia has given their parameters for going through the proper channels to implement this change. If other pools don’t like it, they should step up and host one of the All Star meets.

NVSL also violated their own bylaws by making a rule change:
Article XI - Rules for Swimming Competition The League shall maintain and publish Rules which govern the organization and conduct of League swimming competition. The Rules shall include lists of events. Proposals for revision of the Rules shall be submitted in writing by Team Representatives to the Chair of the Rules Committee no later than October 31. The proposals shall be reported by the Rules Chair to the Board for its recommendations and further proposals. All rules change proposals submitted by Team Representatives to the Chair of the Rules Committee and all additional proposals recommended by the Board shall be presented to the Team Representatives, and, to be adopted, shall require a twothirds vote of the Team Representatives present and voting.
But NVSL follows USA Swimming unless specified otherwise. So a rule change would be needed to not do the same as USA swimming. The current status is in compliance with USA Swimming.
Most of the reps were discussing that at the meeting offline.
I agree with points made by Lincolnia Park the ASR host who is no longer hosting this year but they are incorrect about NVSL summarily changing the rule without the rep process. If they felt so strongly they should have proposed a rule change to allow swimmers to choose their gender.
They couldn’t submit a rule change because the announcement was made by the NVSL after the deadline to submit a rule change.
USA swimming updated the policy last year so we were on notice.
