I feel like my kid is the opposite. They look just ok in drills and smaller spaces, but in the big field they make good runs and smart plays, and can push up on defense but still get back to stop a goal. Their teammates are more like the fancy footwork kids and it can be frustrating because they try to be the hero all the time and don’t look for the pass. It’s a guessing game as to what the coaches want at these tryouts. So far at least they haven’t scrimmaged on anything smaller than a 9v9 size field. [/quote]
