Which version of it? One version is very common, something like 75% of peopel have it. HSV-1 I think?
That isn’t the venereal disease
News flash you can get HSV-1 on your genitals just like you can get it on/in your mouth. Just because you can get HSV-1 from innocent contact as well as sex doesn’t make it any less of a venereal disease. Use google, it’s free.
70% of people don’t have genital herpes. Stop trying to normalize something so shameful.
I have no idea what you are talking about? I wasn’t trying to normalize anything? I was simply stating that HSV-1 or 2 can both present on the genitals-which is 100% true.
HSV-1 is typically oral. HSV-2 is typically genital. Oral sex can cause them to occur in the atypical location. Lots of people who contract HSV-1 genitally have one outbreak and never again, or have them so rarely and mildly that they don’t take medication daily. Those with HSV-2 should be taking a daily pill to prevent outbreaks. You can contract either HSV-1 or HSV-2 and have it be dormant in your system for years before ever having an outbreak. He may not have cheated, he may have contracted before dating OP and not had an outbreak until recently, he may not have had an outbreak at all (OP never saw one), he may have not had an STD test until recently at an annual check up (my GYN and DH’s PCP have recently started including these annually for all patients because morals are at an all time low).
