The threat, “If you leave him you’ll never find anyone as good,” is not threat you think it is. Situations like the one OP describes are so bad for everyone - kids included - that it’s healthier, safe and more peaceful to be alone for the rest of one’s life (if that in fact is the way it works out). 20 years later I still remember the immense relief I felt when I kicked my husband out, and he actually left.[/quote]
