It's mostly good except those two wasted off days.

The first such day is September 11 which is soon after Labor Day. The other day April 21 is a Wednesday so no long weekend there.[/quote]

Apparently they are making some changes to the calendar they approved last month. Sept 11 is now a school day, and the April 21 non instructional day moves to the 22nd.

But anyway because so much of the world likes to be off around then, they just want to be on the same page. If places didn't break around Christmas it could simply be 1/2 day 12/24 12/25 off maybe 12/26 off since that was on a Friday. The big effect is "New Year" coming a week later. If they weren't so close together Christmas break would be simular to Thanksgiving.[/quote]
