People like the one to whom you are responding should leave.  We need citizens who actually give a damn when times are difficult.  Let her go. Let them all go.  We need patriots who stand up to injustice not people with give up sniveling and whining.[/quote]

It's not just a question of 'times are difficult'.  There is real fear - especially if one has vulnerable family members. How do you balance protecting the vulnerable with fighting back while also making a living?   Also, the entire nightmare of the last 10 years makes one question - do I actually belong in this country anymore?  Do I want to fight for a country where a substantial percentage support MAGA? hatest science and the federal government?  hates women?  hates international institutions?  Idk.  [/quote]

We are considering leaving because we are among the targeted identities, and the last couple of years have made clear that while we may not be in immediate danger (for now), we are quite obviously not intended to thrive here. And I think that's enough reason to consider other options. [/quote]
