Gee, I don't know, but each time I come back from a foreign country I feel like I am lucky to be living in the USA. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good vacation at different places and enjoy culture, food, people, etc. But there isn't anything like it is over here in the USA.

Well, snitch, I have family who are birthright citizens well past retirement age, and are changing travel because they are afraid of harassment. I have vulnerable people in my family who depend on me, DH, and others to live and be safe.

The question of how to be safe is a real one. I have been to protests and I have contacted my reps. Members of Congress who do not act NOW all should be replaced assuming our elections are actually held - and that is not hysteria. Does anyone remember that Giuliani tried to cancel the primary in the fall of 2001? He was awash in his own good press as “americas mayor” and thought he could just swat away term limits and be the hero of a rebuilt NYC. Here, we have serious doubt about what Trump and Miller will pull before the fall. Can we talk about that without some chunk scolding people for having rational fear? Does “doing the work” involve something beyond bookmarking Indivisible and having a crush on the pod John’s? GMAMFB. F off.

This. We are considering leaving because we are among the targeted identities, and the last couple of years have made clear that while we may not be in immediate danger (for now), we are quite obviously not intended to thrive here. And I think that's enough reason to consider other options.

I'm continually amazed that so many people act as though people never emigrate or move countries. People do so every day. It's more involved than many Americans realize but it is not the impossible feat so many people act like it is.

Both my husband and I have professional degrees on the list of desired talent for many countries, and we are not exceptional. We have family abroad in a few countries. We can prove ancestry for a few others. And we are descendants of slaves, meaning we have less documentation of our history than most white people.

If you want to move, you most likely can. It won't be fast or cheap but it is very possible.

I would love for the little scrapper to explain how to “fight here.” Our representatives have refused since 2017 to step up despite polling, constituent communications, protests.

Even with a job it would be incredibly difficult to live in a new place with a new culture and not really knowing anyone.

It was a bad place during the war and directly afterwards, but now people want to go back to Europe. Things always change.

I am a dual citizen with one of the European green countries and, if this chart says so, maybe the government is making things easy for Americans to move there but let me tell you clearly: the people of the country do not want Americans.

I haven’t gotten that feeling at all and I’ve recently been traveling overseas. People feel bad for us.

I do think about this. But how do you move when you have a job? A kid heading to college ? And where do you go?
