Insurance is part of the cost of owning a car. You don't need comprehensive or collision, but liability is a must. If you put gas in your car, you insure your car.

Or, feel free to pay out of pocket when you damage someone else's car. Those are the cards you play when getting on the road.

And stop disparaging POC. I'm OP, and a WOC (though half white). The victim in this case was a Black woman. The perp was ethnically ambiguous, and had the most expensive vehicle of all 3 of us.

If you can't afford to insure your car, you sure as hell can't afford a gym membership. Facts.
