My full-time AAP 3rd grader got the following on the assessment titled 'MAP MATH 2-5' Math Overall: High - 204 - 90th Number/Number Sense: High - 209 Computation/Estimation: HiAvg - 191 Measurement/Geometry: High - 209 Prob/Statis/Patterns/Functions/Alg: High - 214 Totally decent result and she has had better showings in the past. She can be hit or miss when it comes to rushing to get things done and go on to more desirable activities like... recess!
I wonder if the lower relative score on computation is typical for AAP kids--strong number math intuition, but don't have the explicit instruction for some calculations? My 3rd grade kid's number sense score was still 95th+ percentile at the 6th grade level (240) but computation score was 95th percentile at the 3rd grade level (212). Overall his score was good/fine, but not off the charts (224) - with the other 2 subscales right around there too. The ~30pt gap between subscores seemed pretty big to me.
