The CEOs of some of the biggest retailers (Walmart, Target, Home Depot) met with Trump and let him know that the tariffs would cause empty shelves in the next few weeks. Most retailers told Trump that they have 6-8 weeks worth of goods.

I don't remember which one it was that was on the Today show last week because I was working while listening, but they said that consumers will first start seeing empty shelves in mid to late May.

The last West Coast container ship from China arrived yesterday. The last container ship from China will arrive on the East Coast on May 10. However, neither ship is at full capacity as usual.
