The CEOs of some of the biggest retailers (Walmart, Target, Home Depot) met with Trump and let him know that the tariffs would cause empty shelves in the next few weeks. Most retailers told Trump that they have 6-8 weeks worth of goods.

I don't remember which one it was that was on the Today show last week because I was working while listening, but they said that consumers will first start seeing empty shelves in mid to late May.

If you don't want to believe me, you should read newspapers from abroad. I would suggest you read from the BBC new site, and English-language newspapers from Singapore, Germany, France.
