Terrifying people is the point. They are trying to get people to flee out of fear.
The problem is, they are rolling up US citizens, green card holders etc and at some point, they will roll up "democrats" and "terrorists" because they can; unless they are stopped.
Nearly half of voters voted for Kamala. Are they planning on shipping everyone down there?
They don’t need to ship everyone down there to solidify their power. They only need to ship a small number of political enemies down there to silence dissenter and make people fearful.
I don’t understand why people who are not even from El Salvador are being sent there. I mean, technically, if you are here illegally you should not be here and should be removed to wherever you came from. I’m not sure why El Salvador is becoming a middle man.
Because Venezuela refused to take them back.
Yup. So it turns out that you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here. I’m 💯 ok with sending illegal aliens to third countries if their government won’t take them back.
But why to prisons? Why aren’t they being given the option to live freely given that other country is willing to accept them and they’ve committed no crime?
They had the option to go elsewhere right up until they get picked up for deportation. They were here illegally and they knew it. Getting deported is not a vacation or concierge service where they get to pick an adventure.
You have to separate two issues in your mind - your default reaction to anyone you perceive as being here illegally and your belief in due process. People who murder others with a thousand witnesses get due process. People who sexually abuse toddlers and livestream it get due process. It’s not because we believe they should be set free. It’s because if we don’t give them due process, we don’t have to give anyone due process. We give them due process to ensure that everyone else is guaranteed due process. This is the reason we were successful in insisting that Black Americans, Native Americans, women, Jews, and mentally disabled people got due process. It’s a red line that democracies cannot cross.
Except Democrats have been abusing the due process system. Justice delayed is justice denied. They have abused it so badly, that we cannot even process people with legitimate claims. I feel like there is a line there. When your illegal activities interfere with someone else's right to due process and ultimately other people's rights to justice.
Wtf are you even talking about? The system is too slow, so due process isn’t real?
