The people laid off are not air traffic controllers.  They are support personnel that clean the facilities, maintain equipment, etc.  Not great if equipment starts breaking, but not an immediate threat to safety.[/quote]

If you’re the Trump appointee: I really enjoyed the AMA. I can believe that you’ll do a good and will work for people who will do a good job, even if I don’t agree with you.

But I think this is an example of a case where interacting more people would be good. Maybe, say, this is the result of managers not understanding their own organizations well or engaging in “malicious compliance” and designing the termination lists to cause trouble.

But it seems as if air traffic control people think these firings are a big deal. Republicans fly, too, and it’s hard to believe firing the support people will lead to good results. Before, Trump could blame any new crashes on Biden for a few more weeks. Now, any new crashes are on him. [/quote]
