Winter isn’t a good person. He has sexually harrassed teachers (reported to MCPS and swept under the rug), only cares about his favorite students and doesn’t even try to engage with anyone else, and has blatantly lied to parents. He was incredibly rude to me when my child was there. I know many parents who actively dislike him. Teachers don’t like him unless he plays favorites towards them, too. It’s not just this incident. He needs a central office job or to just go do something else. He shouldn’t be in a school anymore.
The climate data at his school over the past few years seems to disagree with your take regarding his ineffectiveness.
Link?
DP. All school climate survey results are available here: https://sharedaccountability.mcpsmd.org/SurveyResults/content.php
Yeah when 1/3 of my staff disagree that the school is a positive environment, that isn’t a good data point for me
What is really sad is that over 90% of students in grades 3-5 returned the survey and on the answer to question Most of the time, my teachers can teach without being interrupted by students who misbehave. 5.1% of students strongly agreed 30.1% of students agreed 44.2% of students disagreed 20.5% of students strongly disagreed This is such a sad metric that the majority of students in 23-24 school responded this way. But going back to school climate in 22-23 the answer to How positive is the tone that school leaders set for the culture of the school? 0.0% of staff replied not at all 11.5 % of staff replied somewhat 73.1 % of staff replied quite 15.4 % replied extremely. Those numbers look pretty good. Then looks what happens when he isn't there the whole year for 23-24 what the responses are 6. How positive is the tone that school leaders set for the culture of the school? 4.3% now say not at all 65.2% now replied somewhat (compared to 11.5% the previous year) 17.4% replied quite 13.0% replied extremely So if the principal were so awful how come these numbers went down. And again students last year ran the show there 18. Students in this school behave in an orderly manner. 8.7 % strongly agree 26.1% agree 47.8 % disagree 17.4% strongly disagree I am just randomly reading post procrastinating so actually have no vested interested. I work for a different school system but the complaints seem from parents whose kids did not behave in an orderly manner. Most of my colleagues are counting down the years until we retire and telling our kids don't even consider being a public school teacher.
