It is true that the YIMBYs are torn.  On one hand they hate Elrich and want to get him out ASAP, but on the other they would like to play the long game and get an urbanism cult member into that office so that there is absolutely no one to stand in their way.  If they get lucky  they will get 12 years of damage out of it if they recruit well ahead of future election and get the right Manchurian candidate elected.[/quote]
