So wait. You think chapelle roan should just suck it up and do her concert rather than deal with her mental health or safety issues, but you don’t think the kids should have to deal with a concert being cancelled because that is too hard on them?

I don’t really get the logic- crap happens.

That said, I really love chappelles songs. I find her fun and love her vocal range and think she has an interesting take on things. She is a little too explicit for me, but I couldn’t care less about who she is endorsing or not endorsing.  I’m not 10 and I know that voting is something everyone in a democracy should do. It is what adults do.

Not even remotely the same. Have you watched the Simone Biles special on Netflix? If Simone had remained in the Olympics that year, it was a safety hazard. Simone recognized the risk and took herself out of a physically unsafe situation, got the help, did the work. She missed one Olympics. Chapel has canceled five or six events this year some of which were for other larger events. If she’s struggling, she needs to go out and cancel the rest of the year instead of the way she is handling it now. Simone did not enter into any events until she knew. She was really ready. Taylor disappeared for a couple years during the situation, she wasn’t scheduling events and randomly canceling them, she handled what was going on with herself behind the scenes. [/quote]

There are still similarities. Mental health issues are still safety and health issues. They just don’t get the same level of respect but I think the next gen is trying to change that.

Frankly concerts get cancelled a lot. Weather, bomb threats, the singers voice. I just went to a Bruce Springsteen concert that was rescheduled from last year to this one.

If music and artists are only important to you during concerts, I can’t relate.

Simone dropped out and faced criticism as well. Mental health should count as a valid cancellation reason too. Chappell clearly has mental health issues. Eventually, if she keeps cancelling shows, the market will work and no one will get tickets. Maybe she will turn Tracy Chapman and love out of the public eye. Personally I would love her to still make music and don’t care as much about the performances. If that is the way she prefers to make music, so be it.[/quote]
